Sydney’s top performing winter auction suburbs

Sydney’s consistently popular inner- suburban regions generally produced the suburbs with the best results for sellers over winter for both houses and units.

The top suburbs for winter auction results for house sales with 100 per cent clearance rates from the highest listings were clearly headed by Kingsford in the city and east that produced full marks for sellers from 13 listings. Next highest also with 100 percent results ranked by auction numbers were South Coogee and Waverley both from the city and east and each with 7 listings, followed by Budgewoi on the central coast, Loftus from the south and Rodd Point each with 5 houses auctioned over winter.

The top Sydney unit suburbs for winter auction results for sellers with 100 per cent clearance rates were also dominated by inner suburban locations with Strathfield in the inner west clearly the best performer ranked by volumes with 12 auctions followed by Marsfield on the upper north shore with 9 listings, Glebe in the inner west with 8 listings and Chippendale in the city and east, and Homebush in the inner west both with 100 per cent winter clearance rates from 7 auctions.

Although Sydney auction clearance rates eased over winter, inner suburbs continued to generally produce the best results for sellers, a trend that is likely to continue through spring despite the likelihood of higher auction numbers.
