A landlord in Tasmania is throwing in two weeks’ free rent to help their new tenant.

Even in a tight market that has skewed in favour of landlords, the house is one of a selection of homes around Australia where the owners have included one week or more of rent for free, hoping to start off the lease on a happy note.

The stylish property at 120 East Derwent Highway, Lindisfarne, on Hobart’s eastern shore, is advertised at $525 per week, with a heart-felt sweetener.

The owner is including the first two weeks of the lease at no charge to assist the tenant with their moving costs.
