Less than a week before the release of her latest album, pop star Taylor Swift has bought a $US18 million ($23.5 million) four bedroom, four bathroom townhouse in New York’s trendy Tribeca.

Just across the road from the penthouse apartment she purchased from Peter Jackson in 2014, the newly renovated home was discreetly purchased by Swift’s management company in an off-market deal, Mansion Global reported

Spread across three stories, the townhouse is equipped with everything a pop star could need to feel right at home, including a gym, bar and a private cinema.

The light-filled home features spacious entertaining areas, including a large living area with a skylight, and state-of-the-art kitchen with heated flooring and Italian cabinetry.

The master bedroom, which is located on the third floor, features his and her walk-in-closets, a dressing room and a limestone master bathroom and is located in close proximity to the spacious roof-top garden.

Swift is no stranger to the real estate market. Apart from her other Tribeca home, Swift owns a sprawling estate in Beverly Hills, a seaside mansion in Rhode Island and numerous homes in Nashville, Tennessee.
