Commercial spaces located within high-traffic pedestrian zones offer an easy big tick for prospective tenants – particularly ones where customer volumes are renewed year after year.

One Acton location that offers that kind of guarantee is the Australian National University, or, more precisely, its social and community hub known as Kambri.

Nick Fuller of Colliers Canberra says it’s not only the university’s gathering place, but it also provides an exciting hospitality destination.

“Kambri offers a catchy mix of retail, cafes, bars, gym, indoor pool, cinema and auditorium,” he says.

“It’s an engaging, vibrant and upbeat area that not only services and supports campus life, but also provides a destination experience for Canberra residents and visitors more broadly.”

There are now a select number of leasing opportunities at Kambri and other locations on campus that range from 18 square metres to 135 square metres.

“Potential uses are varied, but we think the opportunities will particularly appeal to food and beverage owner-operators,” Fuller says.

“A balanced blend of businesses will certainly contribute to the further growth of the community in this campus that’s been part of the Canberra landscape for some 75 years.”

The ANU has embarked on a revitalisation of the campus in recent years and has focused on connecting it to the broader community through Kambri’s unique village setting.
