Murrumbateman is on an upward trajectory with all indicators pointing toward an even brighter future.
That’s certainly the opinion of local agents – with facts to back them up.
John Lennie of Elders Murrumbateman says a government $100 million road upgrade pledge will have a significant impact on the cross-border town.
“That’s going to effectively bring the ACT even closer and further enhance the Murrumbateman appeal,” he says.
“And the Yass council is making significant investments in land and infrastructure as a demonstration of its confidence.”
Lennie says the resident population is continuing to grow with at least two factors prompting the growth.
“Canberrans are attracted because of the value proposition and the country lifestyle,” he says.
“The median price of a new 4x2x2 home is around $840,000 but it’s likely to be sitting on at least 800 square metres.”
Graham Bush of Independent Property Group Inner North & City says he’s been living in Murrumbateman for several years.
“What you get out here is incredible,” he says, “There’s space, fresh air and a real sense of community.
“And it’s an easy commute into Canberra with a distinct change of pace when you get home.”
Bush says entry price homes are around $650,000 while top-end properties typically range up to around $1.5 million.
“Murrumbateman is a viable place to live with many people now able to work part of the week from home,” he says.
“And you’ve got everything you need – wineries, horse riding, a great little pub and more.”
