The Block 2015: More than meets the eye with bombshell Suzi Taylor

The Block’s resident bombshell renovator Suzi Taylor has tradies hot and bothered and viewers divided.

Many of the Channel Nine show’s fans have an opinion of Suzi, from her looks – which secured her a Penthouse centrefold and a Pet of the Year title – to her forthright manner and lack of renovating experience.

Here are five things you might not have known about the Gold Coast mum, who along with best friend Vonni is competing to finish an apartment in South Yarra’s old Hotel Saville.

1. Taylor was just 19 when, in 1991 – and known as Sue Ellen Underwood – she posed for a raunchy Penthouse centrefold, which saw her crowned the magazine’s Pet of the Year.

2. She recently told Channel Nine’s A Current Affair she was a close friend and lover of the late INXS frontman Michael Hutchence.

3. Prior to enlisting on The Block, Taylor, 44, was a prestige real estate on the Gold Coast and closed an eight-figure sale just before she arrived on show’s South Yarra set.

4. The plight of child soldiers in Africa’s Sudan is a passion for Taylor, who is a mother of three, and when The Block filming wraps, she wants to dedicate time to events that raise charity funds for the cause.

5. She is a rookie renovator and admits she thought a carpenter laid carpet before she was thrown in the deep end on The Block. She and best friend Vonni scored well in the first rounds of room reveals, indicating she’s quickly learnt a thing or two.
