The Block 2016: Property stylist Julia out-styled by her competition, says judge Neale Whitaker

The delicious concept of the “peace sausage” is introduced on The Block this week.

And Andy and Ben prove they are good in the bedroom.

However tasty, peace sausages are the last thing on judge Neale Whitaker’s menu, giving professional property stylist Julia a serve during the reveals of the teams’ second guest bedrooms.

“I think Julia is a stylist who is being out-styled by some of the other couples,” he says.

Fire up the barbecue – this is how it happened.

Earlier in the week, foremans Keith and Dan failed to tell ridiculously good looking couple Will and Karlie about something structural or whatever they really should have done before they poured their concrete floor, causing major hold-ups during their bedroom reno.

They were livid, but Keith and Dan figured a friendly barbecue would mend wounds.

Sort it out over a hot sausage?

Behold, the peace snag (host Scott Cam’s words).

It was a flop.

The salty taste of tears.

The salty taste of tears.

The judges arrive and turn the burners on to high.

Will and Karlie’s modern deco graphic feature wall is a hit, but Neale throws a tantrum over cushion ratios.

“I just have this overwhelming urge to throw everything off the bed,” Neale says.

Given how hot the room’s owners Will and Karlie are, plenty of red blooded people watching at home would agree with the sentiment.

Dan and Carleen are on the nose again despite winning last week, and are not delivering to the level of the bathrooms.

Their pendants are problematic. Moving on.

Andy and Ben, who last week didn’t put a toilet in their bathroom, have rectified the toot issue and won over the judges with a surprise ensuite, plush bed linen and impeccable finishing (no Geelong Kmart here).

Maybe they met some girls on Tinder and snuck them in to help with the decorating, because the smart style belies the fact they are knockabout 20-something lads from G Town.

Has anyone ever been more excited to see a loo? Darren Palmer might have eaten one of Foreman Keith’s peace sausages.

But truly at the butt-end this week is Julia and Sasha.

Their chopped pillows are too precise. For God’s sake, ruffle them up. “It’s feeling very uptight,” Shaynna says.

And Neale aims an arrow at Julia’s jugular.

“Julia is a property stylist who is being out-styled by some of the other couples.”

Rage ensues and much of the next few minutes is bleeped out.

In the last room, created by Chris and Kim, Neale lights up.

“That is the nicest pendant I have seen all day,” he says, proving he is not getting out much. They should have invited him to the sausage party.

But as the boys fist bump, Julia threatens to walk out over Neale’s “career assassination”. Someone get her a peace sausage.
