Since The Block started in 2003, there have been 15 seasons and 67 properties sold so far – with five more to be added to the total this month as season 16 draws to a close.
Not all sold at auction, but most have. And, for the most part, the properties are tightly held, searches of public records show. Most still have their original owner or have changed hands only once.
The odd property has sold for a loss outside of the glitz and glam of the televised auctions, so it’s not all rosy for the members of the exclusive club of The Block property buyers.
