Arguably the most important challenge of the season has begun on The Block. Yes, it’s the Domain Listings challenge.

“Your challenge is to create a listing for Domain that is unforgettable,” Shelley Craft explained to the teams. The teams were given a budget of just $2,000 to bring their listing to life, which then needs to be presented at a high-rolling cocktail event later in the week.

Shelley revealed there are multiple components required for a successful listing.

“You will have to create copy that is compelling, describing your beautiful homes. You will have to style your rooms for a professional photo shoot, and you will have to create a video that features the best and standout element of your home,” she advised.

Domain’s national managing editor Alice Stolz also told The Block teams what she thinks is required for a successful listing.

“At the heart of it you need to bring in your ‘wow’ factor,” she said. “What is it that makes your property unique? Make that the heart of your listing and the focus of your campaign.”

The winning team will win $10,000 thanks to Domain as well as three bonus points for the Domain Super Power Leader board. The leader board tracks the teams’ cumulative scores from judging for every room of the season.

The team that places first at the end of the season will then be granted the power to choose the all-important auction order.

The teams are currently in the process of creating their listings. Here’s what they each have planned.

Ronnie and Georgia in House 1:

The couple centred their video around the idea of going out for a date night, getting ready in luxurious style before having a gold-class movie experience down in their basement’s home cinema.

Mitch and Mark in House 2:

The stylish grandads are planning a video that is informed by the demographics of the area, with the team looking to appeal directly to an audience that they think will show interest in their home.

Tanya and Vito in House 3:

The Melbourne parents are taking us back to the 1960s with their listing video. There’s a bit of bedroom cheekiness creeping its way into the listing video too.

Josh and Luke in House 4:

The twins were struggling to manage their time as they began piecing together their listing video. Currently most of their time seems to be spent cleaning rather than coming up with a concept. The twins are also confident they’ll get the walls back in the outdoor section of their indoor-outdoor bathroom. The walls had been taken down for not being to code, but that didn’t stop Josh and Luke from manually holding up the walls for the Domain listing shoot.

Kirsty and Jesse in House 5:

Kirsty and Jesse are planning to feature some of their “music industry friends”, with Kirsty acting as the main talent as she tours a home with a few celebrity cameos, including Dami Im cooking in the kitchen.

While we’re waiting for the teams’ finished videos, here’s a closer look inside the Bronte Court homes and the current real estate listings on Domain.
