The Block contestants Ronnie and Georgia continue to build on that winning feeling with the news that the classic contemporary property they have brought to life is well out in front as the most viewed Domain listing of the five in the TV show’s 2021 season.
With just days to go until auction fever hits bayside Bronte Court in Hampton, Ronnie and Georgia’s House 1 has attracted an astonishing 546,112 views since going live on August 16, recent data shows.
The energetic couple, admired for their clear vision, sophisticated style and attention to detail, have dominated the leader board and won five of the 12 budget-boosting Sunday reveals as they brought to the fore their experience gained from 2017’s Elsternwick series (in which they came third) and their own renovation business in Perth.
“The numbers [of views] are a reflection of their creativity and skill, as well as a consequence of COVID with property inspections by appointment only,” says their listing agent, Belle Property principal director Jenny Dwyer. “Looking online shows the power of the Domain website and of the video.”
Belle Property colleague David Wood, who will wield the hammer as 2 Bronte Court’s auctioneer, says potential buyers and style enthusiasts are among those keen to get a close-up look online. “People get a lot of ideas from Ronnie and Georgia’s layout and the design,” he says. “The spiral staircase is a work of art, like nothing we have seen before.”
In second place, with 396,431 views of its Domain listing, is Josh and Luke’s controversial modern residence at 10 Bronte Court. It’s at the end of the cul-de-sac but was always at the centre of drama from the first episode screened back in August, when the twins threw architect Julian Brenchley’s advice out the window and swapped a double garage for main-bedroom luxury.
The biggest house of this seventeenth Block season, 1 Bronte Court recorded 374,210 views by devotees keen to see how loved-up country couple Kirsty and Jesse delivered Hamptons glamour to their double-storey pad on 911 square metres.
Coming in fourth with 334,011 views is the beauty with Federation-era origins at 4 Bronte Court, transformed into a family-friendly sanctuary by Sydney granddads Mitch and Mark. In 2019’s Oslo series the colourful couple won the Domain magazine cover and the most-viewed listings; this time they’re determined to better that season’s last-place auction result.
Trailing its neighbours, Tanya and Vito’s three-bedroom House 3 at 8 Bronte Court scored 265,673 views of their transformation of the Neil Clerehan-designed house.
After the hammers of renovation and auction are put away, five more winners will be the buyers of the elegant character-filled homes, each with a pool and basement recreational space, that share a special slice of history.
