With room reveals looming, The Block site is bustling with all the regular chaos. As usual, Sarah-Jane is in the thick of it.

The Blockhead can’t find the blue basin that will be the star of her en suite.

“Saturday morning I woke up and drove around pretty much crying because I thought my life was ruined,” she tells cameras.

After a morning spent frantically searching for the basin, Sarah-Jane finds it in the back of the security guard’s storage van where he put it for safekeeping.

Sarah-Jane’s blue basin isn’t the only thing to reappear today.

After leaving The Block over a clash with Scott Cam, Ankur and Sharon return to site with a new mindset.

“We need to wake up everyday and be positive from that day and accept that this is a TV show,” Ankur tells the cameras.

And it seems the couple are practicing what they preach, making amends with their head builder Liam – who they’ve had a rocky relationship with for weeks now. Ankur and Liam even hug it out.

“All good up at House 3,” Liam smiles.

It’s so much of a fresh start that Ankur and Sharon say it feels like they “reaffirmed their vows”.

And to celebrate turning a new page, Scotty calls a sausage sizzle and a running race between the houses.

Dylan from House 4 goes up against the tradies from Houses 1, 2, 3 and 5. The Blockhead is the fastest on the track even with no shoes on.

Dylan bags the title of fastest man on The Block and $1,000.

With no more time for fun and games, the contestants get back to business. And there’s “so much to do”.

Rachel and Ryan are “hoping to get everything done by 3am”.

But they’re “way behind” after Keith ordered them to fix a shower ledge that ran water into the window.

Ankur and Sharon are also trailing behind.

“Where we always fall short is because we never have enough time to paint because of the size of our house and how long it takes to get there,” Sharon tells the cameras.

The couple find themselves in the “standard situation of no sleep”.

While everyone else manages to deliver their rooms, time gets away from Ankur and Sharon and there are still a few things left unfinished.

All the teams are in need of a win, so they head off to The Block headquarters to hear Scotty read out the judges’ feedback and find out the scores.

Tom and Sarah-Jane’s guest bedroom sets the benchmark high and the tartan wallpaper is a hit with the judges.

“I have loved everything that Tom and Sarah-Jane have done so far, but not as much as I’ve loved this,” Darren Palmer says.

Shaynna Blaze notes the room has been “put together by a really trained eye”.

She thinks the styling is so on point that Sarah-Jane could be an interior designer full-time.

“This is their career after this I’m not joking,” Shaynna says.

Walking into the bathroom, their opinion doesn’t change.

“This is beautiful,” Neale Whitaker says, marvelling at the mustard tiles.

And Shaynna is delighted to see that Tom and Sarah-Jane have given in and installed a shaving cabinet.

The judges notice a few minor painting issues but say it doesn’t take away from an “incredibly confident room” that “really tugs at the heartstrings”.

Despite moving into the modern extension of their house, Rachel and Ryan have injected a few country elements into their bedroom and Shaynna is pleasantly surprised.

The judges say it’s a good room but it’s a little “timid”.

“Everything needs to be grander, needs to be taken to the next level,” Neale says.

But Neale chews his words when he steps into their bathroom.

“There’s not one thing that’s timid about this bathroom,” Neale says.

The judges are please to see Rachel and Ryan have found their groove.

“There’s not one safe thing in here and everything that I see I love,” Darren says.

Shaynna is excited to see Rachel and Ryan’s style come to life.

“If this is their contemporary look I think it’s incredible because it’s got personality,” she beams.

Like always, the judges are in awe of the grandeur and scale of Ankur and Sharon’s bedroom.

But as they look a little closer, Neale identifies “suggestions of trauma” in an unfinished room, including messy paintwork and even a vacuum cleaner left in the wardrobe.

“There’s a lot of panic here,” Shaynna adds.

“We still see the core of what Ankur and Sharon are very good at which is creating palatial overstated drama,” Darren notes the positives.

“What I’m also seeing though is the panic of a bad tortuous week,” he adds.

The pink bathroom isn’t presented any better, but the judges decide to celebrate its successes.

“The layout is perfect for an en suite,” Shaynna says.

“I love the colours.”

The judges notice Dylan and Jenny’s bedroom “doesn’t have the grandeur and scale of some of the rooms” but say it “absolutely packs as much punch”.

Neale feels it’s a “really accomplished room”.

And the artwork is the biggest win of the space.

The judges then enter the en suite, and Darren is on cloud nine in Dylan and Jenny’s bathroom.

“I love this bathtub, I love that tile, I love the feeling in here I think it is really gorgeous,” he says.

But Neale and Shaynna can’t disagree more.

Shaynna doesn't like that the bathtub is pushed up against the wall. Photo: Nine

The layout “doesn’t work” for Shaynna and she wonders why the bathtub is pushed up against the wall.

Neale isn’t a fan of the styling, especially not the shower loofah hanging on a plastic suction cup.

He reminds Dylan and Jenny that buyers will be attracted to luxury styling.

Omar and Oz

Shaynna falls in love with Omar and Oz‘s “zen aesthetic”.

While Darren thinks the the low bed makes “everything seem really spacious and like a big gorgeous void”.

The position of the artwork puzzles the judges, with it resting atop the bedhead. “I’m guessing that the artwork isn’t meant to be there,” Neale says thinking it must’ve fallen.

Regardless, he loves the artwork choice.

Omar and Oz hold onto their title of “bathroom kings” when the judges are equally impressed by their en suite.

Neale is taken aback by the grey terrazzo-style floor tile. “It’s a very unusual tile for me to like, but I really love it,” he says.

And the judges have nothing but praise for Omar and Oz’s toilet paper origami flower.

“I literally would wear that as a bracelet,” Shaynna admits. Although Darren thinks it would be better styled as a fascinator.

Guest bedroom and bathroom scores

This is usually Scotty’s cue to reveal the scores, but before he does that he has one important question to ask. Will Tom and Sarah-Jane play the Gnome and add an extra point to their total score?

Sitting neck-and-neck with Omar and Oz, Tom and Sarah-Jane decide to play forward the Gnome.

  • Tom and Sarah-Jane: 30 (including the bonus point)
  • Rachel and Ryan: 26
  • Ankur and Sharon: 22
  • Dylan and Jenny: 24.5
  • Omar and Oz: 29

Tom and Sarah-Jane win for a second week in a row and take home $10,000 and mature tree. After scoring a 10 from Neale they also bag $5,000 from the Catch Cow.

Runners up Omar and Oz don’t leave empty handed. They also score a 10 from Neale which means they get $5,000 from the Catch Cow.

The boys also have the upcoming kitchen week to prove they can take out a win.
