9.17pm: Keep an eye out next year, it’s tipped The Block will make a return to bayside Melbourne.

9.14pm: Well, that’s it. The Block is done for another year – but what a year that was! The biggest Block ever! Five teams, 12 weeks, 10 acres – who knows if we’ll ever see a Block of this magnitude again!

9.11pm: What a rollercoaster that was! An incredible result for Omar and Oz, but a disappointing day for the rest of the teams.

9.10pm: That means OMAR AND OZ WIN THE BLOCK 2022!! Scoring themselves a massive profit of  $1,686,666.66, including the winners prize money. But, Oz said: “We didn’t want it to be this way.”

9.09pm: They’ve given the word. The property is going to be passed in and negotiations will resume.

9.08pm: They’re back on the phone – “We need to stop the auction,” Jenny says. It’s jumped to $4,075,000.

9.06pm: Jenny is begging for the property to pass in.

9.05pm: Nic Jacobs has jumped in, Frank fires back. We’re at $4m now.

9.04pm: Everyone is asking where Dylan and Jenny’s registered buyers are. The bid is with Frank at $3.9m. Cooley is off to chat to Dylan and Jenny.

9.03pm: Still no bids. This is tough going. There we go a bid at $3.9m

9.02pm: Here’s Danny starting at $3m. Cooley says it’s too low. “It’s too far away from where we need to be,” Cooley says.

9.01pm: Uh oh, the room is silent.

8.59pm: Dylan and Jenny have three bidders in the room that haven’t considered any of the other properties. Let’s kick things off. Here’s Damian Cooley to get it underway.

8.57pm: “It’s a bit of a tough day for everyone,” Sharon says. Dylan and Jenny are up next.. the final auction of the day. What will happen with this one?

8.55pm: That’s two pass ins so far … Here’s what happens when a property passes in at auction.

8.52pm: The bidder isn’t budging. The sale of House 3 will have to be negotiated.

8.51pm: Danny’s out. Sharon is on the phone … and it passes in, after much discussion. Stress levels are high!

8.47pm: We’re at $4,050,000, then a rise to $4,075,000. Will they pass it in?

8.46pm: First bid is $3.5m, followed by $3.85m from Frank, now at $3.9m. It’s climbing. We’ve got some different buyers in the room here.

8.45pm: Scotty’s saying Sharon and Ankur have got to pass in if the auction looks like it’s going the same was as Rachel and Ryan’s.

8.44pm: Sharon and Ankur are up now. They’ve got the largest house on The Block – by 14 square metres. How will they fare?

8.40pm: That didn’t play out the way anyone expected. We haven’t seen a property pass in since Ronnie and Georgia’s property in 2017.

8.37pm: There we go. Property has passed in to Danny. After negotiations Danny buys House 2 for $4,249,000.50.

8.36pm: Rachel and Ryan are on the phone to Marty Fox. They’re going to pass it in. The bid is with Danny at $4,050,000.50. Unless they get a bid of $4.2 million, they going to pass it.

8.35pm: Here’s Marty Fox, rejecting bids that are too low. Frank says $3,950,000. Danny is working out is bid. Frank brings it up to $4million. Danny counter offers and increases the bid by 50 cents. Frank won’t go to $4.1 million. Marty is firm. We won’t sell.

8.30pm: I don’t think anyone saw that coming. Rachel and Ryan are up next. How their auction unfolds is anyone’s guess.

8.23pm: “The Block’s a rollercoaster, ” Scotty says. He’s not wrong there.

8.22pm: All the teams are in tears, and to be honest, I’m on the verge too.

8.21pm: David’s making the third and final call now. No further bidding. the room is silent. It’s going, going and sold to Danny Wallis for $4,100,000.99.

8.20pm: Scotty’s saying what we’re all thinking. “How can we have the first auction then have this?” Tom and Sarah-Jane are on the phone to David Wood now. Where will this go?

8.18pm:  Tom and Sarah-Jane have a profit of $20,000.99. Will they get any more?

8.13pm: Things have stalled. The buyer advocates’ are hitting the phones. Tom and Sarah-Jane are stunned.

8.12pm: There he goes again, Danny making a bid of $4,100,000.99. Yep, 99 cents.

8.11pm: Frank Valentic and Nicole Jacobs kick things off. We’re at $4,075,000 right now. Danny has been quiet so far. We’re not on the market yet.

8.10pm: No one can believe what just happened in the first auction. Danny Wallis is at Tom and Sarah-Jane’s auction. Sarah-Jane is really feeling the nerves.

8.08pm: Tom and Sarah-Jane did win the most room reveals. Will that translate come auction time?

8.07pm: That’s an epic result for the boys. Hopefully that sets the tone for the ret of the teams. Tom and Sarah-Jane are up next.

8.04pm: So, Danny Wallis is back on The Block.  For those who don’t know who Danny is, he’s a prolific purchaser of Block properties, having already snapped up several from previous seasons. I wonder if he’s considering any more of these homes.

8.00pm: HOLY HELLLLLL!! Omar and Oz’s property sells for a whopping $5,666,666.66! That’s $1,586,666.66 over reserve. WOWEEEEEE. Did anyone see that coming?

7.59pm: That’s $5.5 million. Adrian is out at. Bid is with Danny.

7.57pm: Danny Wallis is in the house!! Doing his signature bidding! Bid is $5.1 million!!

7.57pm: Auctioneer Tom Panos is kicking things off. Opening bid from Frank is rejected. Then is jumps to $4.5 million. We’re now at $4.6 with Adrian Portelli.

7.56pm: The boys are ready to roll. They want to start well for everyone.

7.54pm: Auction 1 is about to kick off… who’s in the room… Sarah-Jane thinks Adrian Portelli will buy House 5. Will she be right?

7.51pm:  Oh, The Block is welcoming a “very special guest”.

7.50pm: Here we go, it’s auction daaaaaay. Looking at everyone getting dressed up! They’re feeling good!

7.46pm: “They want us to lose,” says Omar and Oz. Looks like they’re not happy at being first cab off the rank.

7.43pm: “It is what it is…” says, everyone.

7.42pm: Sarah-Jane has gone to pieces. There’s a lot of pressure that comes with choosing auction order. She’s explaining their decision to Jenny.

7.40pm: OK, here’s the auction order:

House 5

House 1

House 2

House 3

House 4

7.39pm: Wow, Tom thinks there are teams that deserve more than others.

7.33pm:  Sarah-Jane is in tears. What will they decide?

7.32pm: Tom and Sarah-Jane are off to talk to their auctioneer, David Wood from Belle Property. David thinks Tom and Sarah-Jane should go second and Dylan and Jenny should go last.

7.29pm: Uh oh. This isn’t looking good. $4,080,000 is the reserve for all teams. Rachel says they don’t have interested buyers at that price point. Scotty points out no contestants are ever happy with their reserves.

7.28pm: Teams are rally hoping for a lucky number 3.

7.26pm:  All teams went over budget in the final weeks of the build, but Scotty will add nothing to anyone’s reserves prices.

7.24pm: Alice tells the contestants that there’s a risk not all properties will sell. A softening market and multiple interest rate rises are likely to affect results.

7.21pm: Teams are hoping for reserves in the $3millions

7.20pm Geez, Keith and Dan have to go to a lot of effort to get these reserves.

7.18pm Oooh, 12 hours til reserve reveal … what will they be?

7.12pm:  Hugs all round!

7.07pm: Look at the scale of those houses! It’s pretty incredible to think this has been done in 12 weeks.

7.05pm: Oh, yeah, remember Joel and Elle??

7.03pm: Last day on The Block – time to say goodbye to their houses. No more renos, no more room reveals. Tom’s had an absolute ball.

7.02pm: Tom and Sarah-Jane did win the right to choose auction order. Here’s how the decided how to play it.

7.01pm: Here we go…

6.59pm: ONE MINUTE TO GO!

6.56pm: Get your snacks ready people – the countdown is on! I’ve got myself some popcorn, peanut m&ms (they are the superior flavour) and a prosecco. Cheers!

6.52pm: Not long to go now, Block fans. Let’s look at how the Gisborne property market has been performing ahead of tonight’s auctions.

6.41pm: We’re so used to seeing the judges dish out their thoughts on contestants’ renovated properties, but it’s not often you get to see inside the home of a Block judge. Shaynna let us take a tour of her Melbourne home. Take a peek yourself.

6.30pm: Want another look at the listings? Check out the Domain magazine story, with Tom and Sarah-Jane’s House 1 on the cover. There are virtual tours too!

6.15pm: So, who do you think will win this year? We asked five experts for their thoughts.

6.00pm: Tom and Sarah-Jane’s House 1 was a hit with judges – they won six room reveals – and it proved to be a hit with the public, too. Their listing clocked the most views online out of the five properties.

5.45pm: And who can forget about Foreman Keith and Foreman Dan? We spoke to them about what it’s like on site on The Block.

5.30pm: Ever wondered what it’s like to be a judge on The Block? We did, so we followed Neale, Shaynna and Darren around for a day. Here’s how it went.

5.15pm: We saw some epic rooms delivered in this epic season, none more so than Omar and Oz’s incredible kitchen – the most expensive kitchen in Block history.

5.00pm: Given this year’s homes were on such sprawling blocks, some of the teams added tiny houses and work-from-home pods. Here are the things you need to know if you’re considering one for your own backyard.

4.45pm: What is an off-grid, 7-star home I hear you ask? Read more about it here.

4.30pm: This year, The Block made a tree change to Gisborne, Victoria, and upped the ante, with five teams building off-grid, 7-star homes on four hectares of land. Find out how this season was different to others.

4.20pm: It’s that time of year again … It’s Block auction time! Who’s excited to see how things turn out? I am! Let’s look at each of the homes going under the hammer:
