Where is Hampton East?

Just 14 kilometres south-east of Melbourne’s CBD, Hampton East is tucked between Hampton and the Nepean Highway. Take a leisurely stroll or bike ride and you’ll quickly find sand between your toes at Hampton Beach. Walk further along the cliffs of Port Phillip Bay and you’ll reach Brighton Beach and its iconic colourful bathing boxes.

Nearby Hampton Street shopping strip boasts a mix of cafes and specialty retail. The suburb has public transport options with buses and the nearby Hampton station on the Sandringham line.

Popular with families, Hampton East boasts large blocks and a mix of established and new-build homes. The median price for a four-bedroom home in the suburb is $1.65 million while the median price for a three-bedder is $1.306 million. Two-bedroom units have a median price on $605,000.

When is The Block auction?

The Block auctions are scheduled for the weekend of November 4th, with all five houses to go under the hammer on the same day. The Block finale will air on Channel Nine from 7pm on Sunday, November 5.

What are the price guides for The Block houses?

The median price for a four-bedroom home in Hampton East is $1.65 million. The properties on this season of The Block are all five bedroom homes – with the exception of House 1, which is marketed as four bedrooms – with a price guide of $2.5 million to $2.75 million.

Who are the agents for The Block 2023?

Some familiar faces will be calling the shots come auction night, with multiple agents from this season featuring in – and winning – seasons past.

McGrath St Kilda agent Michael Townsend has been selling property on the The Block for close to 20 years and will be hoping to add to his winning tally when Kyle and Leslie’s home goes under the hammer. The Block regular was the winning agent in 2021 in Hampton, 2020 in Brighton and 2018 in St Kilda.

Leah and Ash have engaged Buxton Hampton East agent Halli Moore, a Block regular who sold Luke and Jasmin’s home in 2020 in Brighton and Kirsty and Jesse’s home in the Hampton season of 2021.

Belle Property St Kilda/Brighton agent Julian Cannata and auctioneer Sam Inan return to The Block this year to sell House 3 for contestants Kristy and Brett. The duo were last seen in 2018, selling the Gatwick apartment of fan favourites Norm and Jess.

Steph and Gian in House 4 will be hoping their agents can deliver back to back wins when their home goes to auction. The couple have engaged Marin Durkovic, Aaron Hill and Chelsea Kleeven from Ray White Sunbury. Durkovic and Hill were responsible for the biggest sale in Block history last year when they sold Omar and Oz’s house for $5,666,666.66 to serial Block buyer Danny Wallis.

Eliza and Liberty have engaged Nick Renna and Connor Harvey from Jellis Craig Brighton to sell their property, House 5. Renna is an award-winning agent who has spent his career selling property in the bayside area.

House 2: Leah and Ash

The winners of the House Decider Challenge before the renovations kicked off in earnest, Leah and Ash have a long history of renovating. The Queenslanders struggled to find their style early before taking out their first win in guest bathroom week with their luxe marble bathroom, following it up with a win in Living and Dining Room week.

House 3: Kristy and Brett

This season’s most controversial couple, Kristy and Brett have never been far from the drama.

Their house was a favourite of Block super-bidder Adrian Portelli – who bid $4.5m on Omar and Oz’s property last season before buying Sharon and Ankur’s house for $4.25m – at the recent Domain Listings Challenge, but the public had different ideas, giving them just 11 votes.

House 4: Steph and Gian

Favourites to take out this season’s title, Steph and Gian have won multiple challenges giving them extra cash to splash on their renovation. The married couple were also the winners of this year’s Domain Listings Challenge with a whopping 36 votes. The challenge saw 100 prospective buyers walk through the properties, give their feedback and vote for their favourite.

House 5: Eliza and Liberty

From a controversial moss wall in their guest bathroom to a show-stopping kitchen – complete with bright orange Smeg oven and rangehood that delivered their first win and earned them their first 10 from the judges – it’s been a rollercoaster ride for the sisters. With no previous renovating experience the girls have found their styling groove as the season has rolled on.
