Getting your foot in the property door is no easy feat, but what if you could win yourself a $20,000 house deposit?

This year, The Property Collective has sponsored Floriade Community and, as part of the sponsorship, is running a competition between August 25 and September 22 for buyers to win themselves a house deposit.

The Property Collective director of sales Will Honey said the sponsorship came as a no-brainer for the team.

“We currently have the initiative to plant a tree for every property we rent or sell so this sponsorship was an easy fit,” he said.

“When we were thinking of what else we could do for the community as part of the sponsorship, we decided to partner with Bronte Group and came up with an idea to help buyers purchase something at the Elia development in Taylor.”

The development is a collection of 52 two, three and four-bedroom townhouses and apartments with a price guide of $589,900 to $689,900. The expected completion for Elia is mid-2023.

“Elia is a little more ‘affordable’ than most other developments in Canberra and this competition will include either a two or three-bedroom townhouse or a two-bedroom apartment,” Honey said.

“It’s open to any type of buyer but, of course, we’re hoping this could help a first-home buyer get their foot in the door.”

To make one entry to the competition, an entrant would have to like The Property Collective’s Facebook page and/or follow its Instagram profile; and comment on a Floriade-related post on their favourite thing about the flower festival.

For two entries, the entrant would need to snap a selfie photo in front of two tulip trail locations including The Property Collective’s Kingston office and the Elia display suite in Taylor. Then they would have to post the two selfies to their Facebook or Instagram profile with the hashtag #WinAHomeDepositWithTPC.

“So far, since the start of the competition, we’ve had 50 entries. It’s a pretty encouraging start to the campaign,” Honey said.

The finer print of the competition explains that entrants would need to accept a contract from Goodwin Home Loans and be able to pay the shortfall of the 5 per cent deposit, should the deposit amount be more than $20,000.

The competition will close on September 22 and will be drawn at 1.30pm on September 30.
