OK, so Manuka is not technically a suburb, it’s actually a designated entertainment precinct. Despite this, it’s worthy of its own mention.

The precinct falls mostly within Griffith, however small parts, such as St Christopher’s, are in Forrest. Manuka is one of Canberra’s oldest areas and retains a sense of charm through its heritage-listed buildings, including the cathedral and the Manuka Pool.

Shopaholics and foodies will delight in Manuka’s many offerings, from high-end shops to small boutiques and the many brunch options to satisfy your appetite.

Food is the cornerstone of Manuka, and you are more than spoilt for choice. For brunch head to the Lawns where there are many options.

ONA Manuka has a great menu, plus world-renowned coffee. There’s also 1or2 Cafe, Urban Pantry and Patissez – where you can enjoy the original freakshake.

You can’t walk past Mee’s Sushi for lunch and Public is the perfect place for afternoon bevvies.

For dinner, Trecento has an amazing margherita pizza.

For Asian cuisine, Timmy’s Kitchen may appear understated but the food is mouthwatering. Kopi Tiam is also a must-try!

See & do

The oval is located in the suburb of Griffith.

Catch a game of cricket or Australian Rules at the historic UNSW Canberra Oval. Time it right and you could see the GWS Giants in action – the team plays three games at the oval each year.

For the warmer months, Manuka Pool is arguably Canberra’s best, purely based on its gorgeous art deco architecture.

Shopaholics will relish in the range of shops, from Country House Manuka, Home By Creations and Momento Dezigns.

For the young ones, Kidstuff is a toy store of their dreams and book lovers will find their piece of heaven at Paperchain.
