A property listing which could only be described as “noice, different and un-ewes-ual” has hit the market, giving buyers the chance to secure a piece of Australian television history.

The townhouse featured in the hit television series Kath & Kim has been listed for sale and holds a secret that fans may be unaware of.

“Chateau Kath”, where four seasons of the award-winning series were filmed, is, of course, just a short trip in the Barina from the famed Fountain Gate shopping centre.

About 35 kilometres from Melbourne’s CBD in the south-eastern suburb of Patterson Lakes, the double-storey home has four bedrooms, a dining room, lounge area, open plan kitchen and family area.

According to Domain Group data the median house price for a four-bedroom property in Patterson Lakes is $753,000, but those seeking the “effluent” lifestyle can expect to pay well above that if the property’s sales history is anything to go by.

In 2011, the home sold for $1.23 million, before selling again in 2014 for $1.3 million.

The property’s floor plan remains relatively unchanged to when foxy ladies called it home, though there are a few cosmetic changes

The home itself backs onto a canal and has its own private jetty, but during filming a fence was built to block out the view and maintain a more typical suburban feeling.

And while the listing makes no mention of the “good room” that doubled as Kath’s pilates studio and housed the treasured plasma TV, the eventual buyer will be able to create their own special space. Perhaps, disappointingly though, Kath’s “noice” wardrobe isn’t included either.

The bed's not included, either.

The bed’s not included, either.

Whoever ends up buying it should take a leaf out of Sharon’s book about the best way to celebrate their new purchase.
