Since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, homeowners have been ditching the dream of living in the city and moving to the suburbs – or even further afield.

This week’s episode of Property Unpacked looks at home buyer demand has shifted in the past months.

Domain’ s new Buyer Demand Indicator, which tracks weekly demand for houses and units across Australia from behavioural searches, has revealed an interest in houses and units in the outer suburbs of Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.

The indicator is first in a series tracking demand for suburbs around Australia. To find out demand for your property, follow it in Domain for Owners.

Also in this episode, we speak to Dan White, Ray White group managing director, then joins us to talk about the growing appeal of tree and sea changes. Ray White has seen demand for regional areas soar in the month of August – but will the trend continue?

Finally, in celebration of Sustainable House Day 2020, we speak to Jenny Edwards, director at Light House Architecture and Science, about what makes a home sustainable in 2020. Including the nifty use of bubble wrap instead of double-glazing your windows.
