For your morning coffee or weekend brunch catch-up, Fox and Bow is a bustling cafe with Instagrammable meals that taste as good as they look. The kids will be occupied with its basketball hoop in the colourful mural laneway – you almost feel like you’re dining in the streets of Melbourne.

Plenty of walking paths, nature parks and playgrounds are dotted throughout the suburb making it perfect for families and four-legged friends. Currently under construction, Farrer Local Nature Play Park will be one of Canberra’s coolest parks for kids. It’s set to be completed in September.

Farrer Ridge Nature Reserve is replete with walking tracks that offer elevated views across Woden Valley on one side of the ridge and the Brindabella mountains on the other.

The reserve is also a great place for a picnic, so if you’re after some nibblies make sure you check out the cheese wall at the IGA.
