The California estate where Prince Harry regularly played polo has been listed for a cool USD $50 million ($72 million).
The sprawling 61-acre property known as Cancha De Estrellas or ‘field of the stars’ is located in Santa Barbara County’s Carpinteria.
It’s just 10 minutes from Montecito, where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reside, alongside famous neighbours such as Oprah and Ellen.
The luxury property, with achingly beautiful 360-degree views of the mountains and the ocean, is described in the listing as a “rare opportunity for the most discerning equestrian lover.”
It was last purchased in 2017 for USD $14.2 million ($20.4 million).
Prince Harry was last seen enjoying a game at the compound on June 10. He played for his friend Nacho Figueras’ team Los Padres in his first game after returning to Los Angeles from spending the Jubilee weekend in London.
“The beauty and comfort of this world-class estate attracts the elite of the polo community, both players and enthusiasts,” says the listing.
Nacho Figueras, a long-time friend of Prince Harry, is known as the ‘David Beckham of polo’.
The $72 million price tag comes complete with two polo fields, immaculate modern landscaping, and all of the supporting equestrian areas.
Over 100 covered horse stalls with options for 30 more offer the protection for peak performance of elite horses.
There’s also a scoreboard lounge; a modern custom-built structure outfitted with chic art, furnishings, and entertainment, where visitors can grab a cocktail, watch the match, relax, and mingle.
According to the listing, every part of the property design considers function, as well as the beauty of the local flora and fauna. To that end, the estate includes idyllic walking and riding trails with the ability to ride to the beach, to lunch in town, or to the neighbouring polo field. All of the structures on the property are also fitted with solar.
Each of the two included parcels can build a permanent home and appurtenance structures, from tennis courts and swimming pools to a guest house.
