Browsing property in an Aussie pastime and, at the luxury level, the most expensive homes in the country right now will take your breath away.
These are the priciest listings – based on publicly advertised price only – right now on Domain, including a Toorak mansion asking $75 million to $82.5 million which is so elite, the exact address has not been revealed.
In Victoria, all properties must have a disclosed price guide, so although there are homes worth more than $18.9 million for sale in Sydney, consumer rules mean the prices in our highest-value capital are shared with prospective buyers (and sticky beaks) with the agent’s discretion.
With landmark views, over three levels, the salubrious property has been recently updated by architect Stephen Gergely. It has 180-degree panoramic views of the Harbour Bridge, the Sydney Opera House and the CBD skyline, which are protected in that they will never be built out. The price guide is $18.9 million, in a suburb with a $7.9 million median house price.
The exact address has not been reveal on the listing, such is its prestige. With a price guide of $75 million to $82.5 million, if it achieves the top end of that range, it will be the second-most expensive home ever sold in Victoria, behind an $88 million deal (also in Toorak). Architect Ilario Cortese and landscape designer Paul Bangay oversaw the meticulous five-year build.
The home was built in 2019 by a company known for crafting luxury homes in Adelaide – the Genworth Group. “Taking inspiration from the breathtaking beauty of historic French chateaus and landscaped English manor gardens, discover this classical symphony of grand family living, a finely-tuned residential masterpiece like no other,” the listing says. Hopes are $6 million to $6.5 million.
This jaw-dropping $20 million designer home in Brisbane’s inner suburbs truly is a dream address. It is so in every sense, because this brand new masterpiece, named Hacienda, is not yet finished. It is so luxe, it even includes a glass-encased lift that will glide the lucky new occupants between the stylish levels.
Offerings of about $21 million are invited for this executive address on the water. The penthouse – one of the best in Australia, the listing says – spans two floors of the deluxe Mardelup Building on the Swan River. Inclusions are no less than a theatre, walk-in, temperature-controlled wine cellar and self-contained quarters for visitors or staff.
The sprawling property comprises three dongas, a campsite and two houses, on an enormous parcel that includes 7kms of Finniss River frontage. With a guiding price of $4.9 million, the offering is a consortium ownership, and has the most Aussie address imaginable – Dundee Forest.
The established garden and gallery-like, light-filled spaces are a signature of this property, which has a guide of $6 million-plus and an indoor lap pool beneath a glistening cathedral glass ceiling. “Spectacular surrounding gardens bestow a beautiful private ambience and sensory experience that immediately calms,” the listing says.
Only 30 minutes from the city centre is this 42-acre slice of private paradise with an award-winning designer home. Trial Bay House, with vast glass windows and sliding doors that open to the elements, is on the sprawling block overooking Bruny Island, the D’Entrecasteaux Channel and Trial Bay. It marries polished aesthetics with the beauty of the natural environment. Agents are seeking interest north of $7.9 million.
