Agent: Schute Bell Badgery Lumby, Craig Noye 0429 722 766
You couldn’t get a luxury car for the price of this three-bedroom property in Bourke.
Sure, it’s a bit rough around the edges and no doubt needs some TLC on the exterior, but listing agent Craig Noye says this cottage is on one of the best streets in town.
“It’s close to schools, medical facilities and the main shopping area.”
The past owner of the property had been working on renovations over the past five years with 90 per cent of the work already completed, Mr Noye said.
“It’s still liveable, with only fairly minor work needing to be done.”
Each bedroom has timber floors and two have reverse-cycle airconditioning, and the lounge room at the front of the house has a wood fireplace. Off the kitchen is a separate dining space.
The vast backyard includes a paved undercover area, a shed and chicken coop.
The home has been on the market for three days and already Mr Noye has been fielding plenty of calls from keen prospective buyers.
“Half of the calls have been from locals looking to relocate and renovate and the other half have been from investors looking to rent it out,” Mr Noye said.

Agent: LJ Hooker, Colin Durham 0427 102 456
This traditional weatherboard home has nice street appeal, says listing agent Colin Durham from LJ Hooker.
The three-bedroom property sits on a 1164-square-metre corner block in the small village-like town of Bribbaree, 51 kilometres north-west of Young in regional NSW.
“It’s got great bones. It’s a 60-odd-year-old home but the property itself is in good condition,” Mr Durham said.
“You might want to change the colour scheme but, otherwise, you can move in as is.”
Three bedrooms and a separate lounge room with wood fire are off the central hallway which leads to the kitchen, study and large bathroom. A wide verandah wraps around the home.
“It’s been very popular, I’ve had plenty of inquiries from all over the state – from local buyers and first-home buyers, and those looking for a weekender to get out of the city.”

This cute country cottage is in the tiny town of Apsley, 10.5 kilometres from the South Australian border.
Listing agent Sophie Ford of Ottoson Partners Real Estate said the home had had “heaps of interest from people from Melbourne, Ballarat, Maryborough and Geelong”.
Sitting on a large 2020-square-metre block, the timber-frame home has two bedrooms, a separate living area with jarrah floors and a kitchen and dining zone with a slow-combustion wood heater.
There is a second detached building with an additional bedroom, bathroom and laundry.
“Interested buyers are looking to move in and leave as is or use the home as a weekender,” Ms Ford said.

Agent: Nutrien Harcourts, Tanya Harvey 0437 890 715
Renovators looking for a new weekend project will jump at the chance to tackle this one.
Some of the hard work has already been done, with the home having been completely rewired and new plaster added throughout the lounge room and kitchen.
Tanya Harvey, listing agent from Nutrien Harcourts, says the property needs a new kitchen, bathroom and toilet but it has “good bones”.
“This is a great opportunity for those wanting to test the waters of renovating – you can have some fun and be creative.”
The two-bedroom home sits on a 1464-square-metre block in Pyramid Hill, 87 kilometres north of Bendigo.
“It’s ideal for those looking to get out of hustle and bustle of Melbourne,” Ms Harvey said, adding that there had been a lot of interest from Melbourne-based buyers.

Agent: Century 21, Aaron Moon 0418 774 344
This two-bedroom townhouse in a suburb of Townsville has already had an upgrade within the past 10 years so buyers can move in as is.
Downstairs is a tiled lounge area which leads to the kitchen with ample storage and combined laundry.
Upstairs are two bedrooms with built-in wardrobes and a central bathroom.
The apartment, one of four in the complex, sits on 102 square metres and has its own private fenced courtyard and lockable carport.
“It’s a solid investment for the price. We’ve had constant interest over the past two weeks, mainly from investors,” listing agent Aaron Moon from Century 21 said.
“It’s close to large shopping centres, two to three CBDs and there’s a sporting complex down the road – and one of the best pizza shops in the area.
“It’s also a stone’s throw to a high school and less than a kilometre to the primary school.”
$99,000
Agent: Ray White, Jason O’Halloran 0435 838 098
Coming in just under the $100,000 price point, this two-bedroom cottage, built in 1910, exudes character.
Ray White agent Jason O’Halloran calls it “the grand lady of Port Augusta”.
“They don’t build homes like they used to, and they certainly don’t build them like this.”
The timber-clad home has 1970s-style interiors including original carpets, and wood panelling lining the walls.
“The house is a time warp. I’ve had people wanting to buy the house and furniture – they want to buy it as is,” Mr O’Halloran said.
One of the two bedrooms has a study space and there is a separate dining room and lounge room, as well as a cellar and outdoor workshop.
Mr O’Halloran said he had seen “a huge amount of interest from downsizers, first-home buyers and young couples”.
“Renovations do need to be done but people are prepared to take it on because of its cool, vintage nature.”

Agent: Wardle Co Real Estate, Sean Manfield 0438 864 146
Listing agent Sean Manfield of Wardle Co Real Estate admits this timber-frame property needs a fair bit of work.
“It would be a big job. Some of it is not too bad, but it needs to be re-fenced and landscaped and renovations done to the kitchen and bathroom.”
The two-bedroom home is on 594 square metres and includes a separate lounge area, kitchen with gas oven, large bathroom and separate tiled laundry.
There is also a 25×40 shed on the block with side road access.
Mr Manfield has so far seen interest from investors and those looking to relocate to the area.

“Isn’t it cheap?” Elders agent Will Morris said. And he’s right. With offers starting at just $35,000, this two-bedroom weatherboard on a 1012-square-metre block is priced to sell.
“It’s got some challenges – it’s a bit unloved – but it’s a great opportunity for someone to buy a cheap property and improve it.”
Built in the 1930s, the modest cottage has two bedrooms, a kitchen with gas oven and dining space, plus a separate front lounge area, and a large storage shed/workshop at the rear of the property.
“This stuff sells really quickly. It’s only been on the market for two days but I’ve already had some interest,” Mr Morris said.

Agent: Harcourts West Coast, Jenelle Carey 0488 015 215
This three-bedroom home in the mining town of Rosebery on Tasmania’s west coast has been rented out for the past 13 years and is currently tenanted for $185 a week.
Listing agent Jenelle Carey of Harcourts West Coast said the property presented a good investment with a gross rental rental of 9.82 per cent, and had seen interest from interstate investors looking to buy.

On a 528-square-metre block, it has a large kitchen, carpeted living spaces and bedrooms, an updated bathroom, separate laundry and large storage shed/garage plus off-street parking.
A wraparound deck offers views of the surrounding hills.
