A floating family home has baffled the internet.
And the ocean-bound dwelling that caused millions to scratch their heads happens to be for sale, asking $US250,000 ($AU373,027).
The weatherboard house with a classic slat timber fence, cruising along the waves in the Gulf of Mexico at Tampa Bay, Florida, caught the attention of more than 2.4 million people on Tiktok and sparked much speculation as to what it is.
Tiktoker Sky (username @mads.plus.one) uploaded the eye-popping footage during a day of sunbathing at Tampa Bay.
“Are you ever just tanning and then you see a houseboat? Not like a regular houseboat…like a house floating in the water. No? Okay.”
Sky zooms in on blue and white property, bobbing on the horizon.
A few days later, after some research, Sky updated her followers.
She discovered the floating house was once a water chapel and has been converted into a unique residence. She shared interior images in another Tiktok on her account.

“A lot of people were coming at me saying it was a church. It is no longer a church, it now a house.
“A spiral staircase in the middle of the gulf.
“Literally insane. How to do you dock that and steer it?”
The weird and wonderful property is for sale through online marketplace Specials Finds. Named Former Chapel on the Bay, the two-bedroom houseboat has stained glass windows, polished floors, arched, coffin-shaped doors and an outdoor deck, and was built in 2004.
“This floating chapel has been transformed into a luxurious living space, with over $1.3 million invested in its original build and modern conversion,” the listing says. “The Former Chapel on the Bay still features much of its original religious design, including a towering 30-foot steeple and seven large stained-glass windows, each protected by hurricane-proof glass.”
The home has 97 square metres of living space and sits on twin catamaran hulls.
It has functioned as a wedding chapel and an Airbnb and will be available to the new owner fully furnished.
