From the outside it looks like a small shed, but inside this tiny property is a two-bedroom home and it’s listed for sale for a huge £499,950 ($A902,000).
The small home, dubbed a bungalow, in London’s north has just been refurbished and will give the buyer looking for a tiny place to live a great buy, according to the selling agent Yopa Harrow and Barnet’s Clive Truman.
Mr Truman told the Daily Mail UK, the unique home in Handel Way Edgware had recently been refurbished with a new kitchen and flooring.
“This property offers buyers the unique opportunity to purchase a freehold house in this area for cheaper than the price of a flat, with all the perks that comes with that,” Mr Truman told the news website.
“There’s a private gated driveway, private outdoor garden space, you don’t need to worry about noise from neighbours either side of you (or above and beneath you), and there is no service charge or ground rent to factor into budget.”
The property is a five-minute walk from two underground stations in north London and is close to popular bars and restaurants.
“This property is definitely a one-off, and is one of the most unique homes I have marketed in my 30 years working in the area,” Mr Truman said.
The unique offering is more expensive than many four-bedroom homes in Australia.
Listings asking the same price locally include a four-bedroom home in Berwick in Melbourne’s south-east, or a two-bedroom apartment in Miranda in Sydney’s southern suburbs.
In Brisbane, for the same price it would cost for the ‘shed home’, a seller is offering a three-bedroom pad nine kilometres from the city centre in Moorooka.
Marketing for the home call sit deceptively roomy, with a large skylight, a front garden and off-street parking.
Edgware is a 36-minute drive from the centre of London, where house prices have boomed during the coronavirus pandemic.
House prices have jumped by 6.2 per cent since March last year, the Evening Standard reported last week.
Much like Australia’s property market, those stuck at home during the months-long lockdown, to stop the spread of COVID-19, rethought their living arrangements wanting more space to breathe.
However, this may not be the property for those looking for room to move, given it is just 44 square metres — about the same size as three car parking spaces.
There’s been no word on how popular the home has been, and it is still listed for sale.
