Of course, there’s also something to be said for being a tourist in your own city, and exploring areas you might not have previously considered.

Our top pick of homes is filled with dreamy homes in idyllic locations – like a home in Surf Beach on the South Coast, but also homes within the Canberra borders in Braddon, Isaacs and Chifley filled with character and charm.
