14 Bailey Place in Yarralumla is going under the hammer at 10am, March 14.

The outpour of glorious rain has come just in time for the Canberra Day long weekend and the start of autumn – my favourite season of the year.

In the nation’s capital, the change of seasons and all its colours is particularly apparent and in the next couple of weeks, the open homes circuit is going to blow up in a spectacular showcase of new listings with luscious gardens and tree-lined streets that the Inner South and beyond are synonymous for.

This prime time draws inquisitive and inspired home buyers out of the woods who are hoping to find that emotive connection and are eager to move into their forever homes, which means it’s a great time to list if you’re thinking of potentially selling.

Here, we share with you Allhomes’ top four picks of open homes to see this weekend. Be sure to add these to your inspection planner.

Created by Canberra’s very own Established Builders, you can bet that every detail has been considered in this home and quality craftsmanship is on full display.

The family home is located in one of O’Connor’s most sought-after streets and includes 196 square metres of internal living space.

Its premium elevated position demands kerbside appeal and a lovely neighbourhood outlook from the top-level front entertaining balcony which flows from one of the open living spaces.

13 Freebury Street, Denman Prospect

This property makes a lasting impression with light-filled interiors thanks to extensive use of windows, sliding doors and an open-air atrium in the centre of the home that provides glimpses of greenery.

The finishing touch of luxe is the feature grey marble herringbone tiling in the bathrooms.

Yarralumla

From the second you step foot on the front pavers to the moment you exit towards the back terrace, the home at 14 Bailey Place exudes a sense of tranquillity.

Designed by Adam Hobill and built in 2014, the home envelopes light, warmth and space. Polished concrete floors, timber finishes, brass feature trimming and full-height glass sliding doors exude an air of elegance and grandeur.

Japanese maples offer a warm welcome at the entrance of the home and are a common feature throughout the landscaping. Associated with “calm” and “quiet”, you can’t help but feel at ease when surrounded by these and the lush green gardens.

14 Bailey Place, Yarralumla

Often a place of chaos, the kitchen is made all the more serene with a glass window splashback that runs the length of the kitchen and looks out onto the garden.

Garden aspects are featured throughout the home and offer mini escapes to relax and unwind. This includes a sitting room that adjoins the main living area and the main bedroom with private patio.
