The monthly results are in and sellers have defied the onset of winter with the busiest June on record for the Canberra auction market.

Roughly double the number of auctions took place in the capital compared to the decade average for the month of June.

Sellers are clearly confident about sending their homes under the hammer, reacting to strong property price growth, garnering the fierce competition between buyers and taking advantage of the rebounding economy to boost their selling power.

The median auction price for a house in Canberra hit a record high and broke $1 million for the first time, and there are whispers that the city’s median house price is not far behind cracking that milestone too.

So if you’re on the hunt for a new home, we hope these properties will spark some inspiration in your journey. Get in quick, they may not be on the market for long.

Forrest

Located in the newly completed Estate development, this oversized apartment is ideal for those seeking house-like proportions but with the lifestyle benefits of a luxury apartment.

Soak in the north-eastern aspect with views of Parliament House and St Andrews Church.

The architect’s brief when designing this apartment was space, luxury, views and functionality, which is evident from the moment you enter the front door.

There are three generous bedrooms, two of which are large bedroom suites. One can be used as the main and the other as the perfect guest’s retreat.

The highest quality finishes, fixtures and fittings have been used and the kitchen is a testament to that, featuring joinery, waterfall stone benchtops, Italian marble splashback and the finest Gaggenau appliances.
