1 Willis Court, Jindabyne has a price guide of $2.95 million.

Having just returned from maternity leave, I can safely say that life has been more than a little out of the ordinary – and the same could certainly be said for the property market over the past 12 months.

While caring for my son, I indulged in real estate reverie by binge-watching home and architecture shows, browsing listings and, of course, flipping through the pages of the Allhomes magazines.

The weekend before returning to the editor’s chair, I dipped a toe back into the realities of the property world by attending the auction of a neighbouring home. It was bustling with attendees, including six registered bidders who were a mix of first-home buyers, downsizers and investors.

It was the perfect reminder that there’s still plenty of interest from a broad spectrum of buyers, and a steady supply of spectacular homes on the market – like those you’ll find in this week’s top picks.

Taylor

Well-built new homes are a blessing, especially when they look like the one at 40 McGlashan Street, Taylor.

A treat of colour and texture awaits around every corner, each room bringing something new and exciting to the table. Yet somehow, they work in true synchronisation together.

This is the kind of house that will keep you at home any chance you get. On any given weeknight or weekend, the allure of this home is a strong one. Whether it’s to enjoy a soak in the bath, lay by the pool with a good book, or jump in and spend some quality time with the kids, this is exactly where you’ll want to be.

At the heart of the home lies the open-plan kitchen, dining and family zone. As expected, the designer kitchen houses a huge butler’s pantry, generous stone bench tops and quality appliances.

This area will do most of the home’s heavy lifting, especially considering it opens to two separate al fresco entertaining areas right by the pool.

Family and friends won’t just expect you to do the bulk of the entertaining, they’ll show up at your place unannounced, conveniently right around mealtime. Thankfully, you’ll love hosting people in this home. There’s even an opportunity to accommodate elderly parents or adult children thanks to the self-contained studio.

With such high attention to detail, it’s easy to see that the home has been crafted to the highest standard.
