Canberra’s median house price may have stagnated over 2023 and has yet to reach 2022’s top price of $9 million, but the year still saw a wave of top sales recorded.
Properties in premium locations and on expansive blocks with pools dominated the leading transactions.
In particular, residences close to the Parliamentary Triangle were highly contested with Forrest, Red Hill and Deakin among the top performers.
The highest price achieved was $8.3 million in September for the luxury six-bedroom, six-bathroom residence at 1 Baudin Street, Forrest.
Set on a 2624-square-metre block with an in-ground pool and a 10-car garage, the striking home sold through Belle Property within days of being listed.
The impressive home is located in one of the Canberra’s most coveted locations, near top educational facilities and expansive parklands.
The sprawling property at 4 Wickham Crescent in the prestigious Red Hill sold for $8 million in November.
Set within expansive lush grounds on a massive 4401-square-metre block, the five-bedroom, two-bathroom residence boasted well-proportioned rooms, established trees, picturesque gardens and an in-ground pool.
The impressive property is located just a short walk to Manuka Village and array of cafes, restaurants, shops and major schools.
It was sold through Blackshaw’s Mario Sanfrancesco.
Elsewhere, the stately seven-bedroom, four-bathroom home at 9 Northcote Crescent, Deakin transacted for $6.77 million through Berkley Residential.
Geocon boss, Nick Georgalis and his wife, Sonya also sold their Moresby Street home in Red Hill for $6.66 million. Set on a 3402-square-metre block, the stately four-bedroom, three-bathroom residence also features an in-ground pool.
At 9 Tennyson Crescent, Forrest, a palatial seven-bedroom, five-bathroom residence was another high sale in September for Belle Property Canberra, selling for an impressive $6.25 million.
