The prestigious suburb of O’Connor is establishing new benchmarks as high-quality homes in its prime leafy streets attract strong interest and deliver impressive results.
While median house prices have dipped year-on-year, the suburb’s median house price has soared by 33.6 per cent over the past five years.
Jonny Warren from Jonny Warren Properties said O’Connor was a unique suburb attracting a unique type of buyer but there was always strong interest in the area.
Blackshaw Manuka recently sold the opulent four-bedroom, three-bathroom residence at 7 Lomandra Street for $2.85 million.
The quality home offered expansive family living and dining spaces, a fully equipped gourmet kitchen, a large covered rear deck, landscaped native gardens, and a generous two-car garage with loft storage.
Another top-end O’Connor property expected to fetch a strong price is the luxury house at 16 Belah Street, which is set to go under the hammer on March 16 at 10.30am through Jonny Warren Properties.
Warren said the agency had already attracted strong interest, with feedback suggesting the property would sell for around the $2.7 million mark.
Set on an 805-square-metre block, the substantial family home has been completely transformed.
In 2018, the owners demolished the existing cottage and built two luxurious family homes designed for multigenerational living, where grandparents and grandchildren can create lasting memories under the same roof.
At the heart of this transformation is an immaculate, spacious two-level main residence, augmented by a welcoming single-level granny flat with a thoughtful layout between both.
The appealing package is completed by a prized location near shops, quality schools, and parks.
Warren said it was “an amazing home in a magnificent tree-lined street”, in one of Canberra’s blue-chip locations.
