When looking at homes for sale, I know I’m onto a good thing when the images give me butterflies and I can immediately picture myself and my family living there.

When I saw the home at 7 Dibbler Crescent, Throsby, my stomach was fluttering like crazy.

First, the incredible backyard. It’s not too big, which I like – less maintenance, and thus more time to actually enjoy the home.

And I can see myself spending summer days lazing by the pool, reading a good book or splashing around with my three-year-old.

Then there’s the al fresco entertaining zone with its full kitchen. It’s covered but has an enormous skylight, so you still feel like you’re outdoors.

This is where you could easily host family gatherings for birthday parties or long weekend barbecues, with lunch or dinner served between dips in the pool.

The kitchen is clearly the heart of the home, and while I wouldn’t expect it to solve my daily dilemma of what to cook for dinner, I sure would enjoy cooking on its designer finishes and Miele appliances.

Everything you need is perfectly positioned for easy access in the walk-in pantry.

The flexible office or studio has more than enough space to run a business with a couple of staff, or to simply work from home. It even comes with a kitchenette so you can keep your work completely separate from home life, just minus the commute.

The three-car garage provides an option to carve out space for a home gym, so I can see how easily one could sneak in a workout at any time of the day.

Plus, a segregated living area has its own kitchen, enabling dual living opportunities in this stunning home.

“This modern home is excellently constructed with a practical and versatile floor plan, and comes with a resort-style entertaining area and pool,” says agent Andrew Potts of Altair Property.

“It’ll tick most of the boxes for buyers looking for a large family home or multigenerational living, or a property to accommodate a home business.”

As one of Canberra’s newest suburbs, Throsby is blessed with a fusion of contemporary living and natural beauty. Surrounded by nature reserves, there’s a new park walk to be undertaken every other day.
