If you have ever dreamed of buying your own island, now is your chance, with two neighbouring islands in one of the word’s best-known tourist spots for sale.

Keramithaa and Kaashilhuhudoo island atolls are located The Maldives in the Indian Ocean and you can choose to buy one or both for AU$4.5 million.

An Australian-based real estate agency specialising in the sale of private islands has scored the listing for the two islands, which are being offered for sale for the first time.

Keramithaa Island is a 42-hectare island with an asking price of US$2 million (AU$3.2 million) while Kaashilhulhudoo island is 15 hectares and is for sale for US$850,000 (AU$1.3 million).

“This is the first time offered for these two magnificent islands based in a large atoll coral reef,” the listing says, before adding you can buy them together or separately.

The islands are zoned for residential use but an application to the local government could be made for tourism.

They are covered by a 21-year renewable lease through the Republic of Maldives, with 15 years still remaining on the current lease.

The neighbouring islands overlook one another and feature marvellous beaches and fruit-laden trees.

“Anyone who has ever been to the Maldives can attest to the colour of the waters and the sky,” the listing says, adding the locals are amongst “the friendliest people in the Indian Ocean.”

The islands can be accessed via boat. A major airport services the region.
