The name Ulladulla is derived from an Aboriginal word meaning “safe harbour”, and it’s a fitting description for this tranquil haven.

Situated just two and a half hours from Canberra, Ulladulla offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and laid-back coastal living. It’s an ideal destination for anyone seeking relaxation and adventure alike, whether that’s just to visit or make a more permanent change.

Ulladulla is a gateway to areas such as Milton, Mollymook and Narrawallee, offering a real connection between bush and beach, from rolling green hills to golden sands.

Libby Cupitt has grown up in the area. Her family runs Cupitt’s Estate, an award-winning destination that includes a restaurant, brewery, fromagerie and luxury accommodation on-site.

It’s the place where locals and visitors head to on a warm Sunday summer evening for live music and drinks.

“The Ulladulla region is known for its breathtaking natural beauty pristine beaches, bushland and serene lakes that make it the perfect destination for reconnecting with nature,” says Cupitt.

“But what really sets Ulladulla apart is its vibrant and diverse culture. Add to that the warmth and friendliness of the local community, and it’s easy to see why it’s such a special place.”

McGrath agent Andrea Tucker says the area offers something for everyone.

“Blessed with the tranquillity of the countryside, the area is surrounded by stunning national parks that are perfect for bushwalking and exploring,” she says.

“And then there’s the pristine beaches of Mollymook and Narrawallee, which rival the world’s finest white sands, offering endless opportunities for surfing, fishing or diving.”

Tucker says that despite recent fluctuations, Ulladulla’s property market is resilient.

“There’s been a 5 per cent price pull-back over the past 12 months but it comes after an impressive [58 per cent] growth in median values over the past five years, underscoring the area’s long-term appeal,” she explains.

“A notable trend is the influx of young professional families relocating from Sydney and western regions. Drawn by Ulladulla’s relaxed lifestyle and stunning coastal surroundings, these families bring fresh talent and skills to the community, contributing to its vibrancy and growth.”
