An $81 million penthouse in Dubai’s Burj Khalifa is the highest residence in the world.
The penthouse occupies the 107th and 108th floors of the Burj Khalifa, an 828-metre megatower that is the tallest building on the planet.
Dubbed the ‘Sky Palace’, the penthouse is 1951 square metres in size – more than seven times larger than the average Australian home.
It towers 460 metres above the ground, making it the world’s tallest residential property.
The listing is held by Asad Khan, the CEO of Invest Dubai Real Estate. He says that the penthouse had been “reserved for a renowned Dubai celebrity” for 13 years, before hitting the open market.
“The Sky Palace at the Burj Khalifa is the highest and most spectacular residential property in the world on top of the world’s tallest tower,” Khan tells Arabian Business.
“This makes it the ultimate trophy property on the planet right now.”
Despite its hefty price tag of 187.3 million Emirati dirhams ($AU81.2 million), the penthouse is not yet a luxury home.
The apartment is being sold as a shell and core property. Substantial renovations still need to be completed to turn the space into a liveable home.

Khan believes that the completed property could fetch as much as $395 million, based on similar listings in New York, Hong Kong and Tokyo.
Residents of the penthouse will have access to facilities in the Armani Hotel, a luxury hotel located in the Burj Khalifa.
Other facilities on offer will include a private residents’ lounge, several swimming pools and jacuzzis, private gardens, fine dining restaurants, and three gyms.
