A Florida listing seeking a whopping $35 million (US$25m) has gone viral, but not because of the 12 bedrooms, 15 bathrooms and two-storey library. Rather, the unique home has been likened to Jumanji or Casa Madrigal from Encanto.
Currently considered the most expensive mansion in Orlando, the 1366sqm property is known as Entrelagos: “an extraordinary luxury custom estate home located on a private peninsula”.
Set within in a prestigious neighbourhood on the Butler Chain of Lakes, the one-of-a-kind property is minutes from Disney World and Universal Studios – close enough to catch the nightly fire work show from the rooftop deck.
However, the jungle-themed home’s interior might be enough to satisfy any cinematic cravings without leaving home.
Taking almost 10 years and $11 million (US$8m) to complete, the rainforest-like interior features were handcrafted by Filipino artisans and shipped to the United States.
This includes hand-carved interior doors, painted to be admired as functional works of art.
There is artistic detail on the outside grand columns that was constructed using hand-hewn coquina rock, “a feature virtually impossible to replicate,” according to the listing.
Custom ironwork is found throughout the estate, including the grand staircase, spiral staircases, and the main interior balcony.
In the billiards room, you’ll find hand-carved columns with inlaid billiard balls, cues sticks, chess pieces and other game-style accoutrement.
The main home is comprised of seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms, with a separate three-bed two-bath guest house also on the property.
One stand-out room is the two-storey rotunda library that would be right at home in Hogwarts, with a spiral staircase leading to the tops of the bookshelves.
Other luxury amenities include a movie theatre with a 100″ screen, cathedral ceilings, gourmet kitchen with butler’s pantry and resort-style pool area complete with cabana bar, spa, separate sauna, full bath and laundry. There’s also a private covered boat dock with two boat slips.
All bedrooms have their own bathroom and veranda, plus custom hand-carved moulding. The main suite features a mini-kitchen and jacuzzi tub.
Shrouded in lush vegetation, the estate is all about privacy. The 2.44-acre home is located on a peninsula within in a gated community with 24-hour security.
The listing has gone viral on social media, with many people comparing it to the film Jumanji or Disney’s popular Encanto.
“Strong possibility that someone has been playing Jumanji in that library,” one person joked.
“Someone needs to finish their Jumanji game!” another said.
“Can we, or can we not talk about Bruno?” a commenter asked.
