A multi-level double hexagonal residence offering breathtaking views of Wellington Harbour in New Zealand is for sale.

The home is located in the Wellington suburb of Newlands, just eight kilometres north of the capital, and is described as a distinctive home that is “brimming with potential.”

The property, 20 Sunhaven Drive, Newlands, is being sold via a deadline sale – similar to Australia’s expressions of interest campaign – which ends at 2pm on February 19.

A ‘rateable value’ of NZ $1,250,000 (AU$1.1 million) has been quoted for the property, which is ready for a makeover or could be knocked down and rebuilt.

The current home is set on a 879-square-metre block, which could be subdivided, according to the listing.

“Whether you’re planning a complete renovation, demolishing to rebuild, or subdividing to capitalise on its value, this property delivers endless possibilities,” the listing says.

The current home offers about 300 square metres of living space set over three levels and includes six bedrooms, two bathrooms, multiple living spaces, internal access garaging and ample storage.

“The distinctive layout, featuring spiral staircases and quirky architectural details, adds character and charm [and is] ready to be reimagined into a truly exceptional property,” the listing says.

“The elevated position ensures breathtaking sea views overlooking Wellington, paired with all-day sun to create the perfect foundation for your next project.

“This property offers exceptional versatility, whether you’re a savvy investor, a visionary developer, or a family eager to create your dream home.”

The property is being marketed by Anita Corlett of Low & Co Realty.

It is one of two unusual properties currently for sale in Wellington.

Twin disused concreter water towers located on a large block of land in the suburb of Seatoun, which offers 360-degree views of the surrounding area are back on the market for the first time since 2019.

The agent and current owner believe they could be turned into a home.
