Despite their modest size, Adelaide’s prestige pockets continually draw in buyers looking for a taste of luxury living.

The historic enclave of Unley Park perfectly embodies this vision, with its sprawling homes on large blocks, giant trees gracing the streets, and delightful parks.

The Domain House Price Report highlights Adelaide’s ranking as the top-performing capital city for median house price growth in the September quarter, thanks, in part, to standout suburbs like Unley Park.

One can easily see what all the buzz is about, not least for its location. It is a mere 15 to 20 minutes from both the beach and the culinary, vinous and picturesque delights of the famed Adelaide Hills.

The pulse of family life in Unley Park

Ouwens Casserly Real Estate agent Cynthia Sajkunovic paints a colourful picture of life in Unley Park, depicting a prized suburb in the city’s south-eastern corner.

“The vibe here is deeply family-centric, with Heywood Park central to the area,” Sajkunovic says.

“The lifestyle on offer is that of absolute convenience, style and luxury, being in walking distance of the cosmopolitan strip of King William Road, home to many restaurants, cafes, boutiques and various amenities.”

Sajkunovic says the suburb’s residents are a mix of legacy home owners, businesspeople and medical professionals, given its closeness to Adelaide’s premier healthcare facilities.

Likewise, its proximity to elite schools like Walford Anglican School For Girls, Mercedes and Scotch colleges, and Pulteney Grammar School makes it a magnet for families.

“The suburb’s appeal is simply undeniable,” she says. “I predict that a growing number of affluent interstate buyers will set their sights on Adelaide’s best, and that Unley Park will stand tall on their list.”

Unley Park’s architecture and ambience

Craig Linke Bespoke Building owner Craig Linke says the suburb has a deep sentimental value. It’s where his company kicked off with its first renovation project.

“Unley Park holds a special place in my heart,” Linke says. “Its allure lies in its harmonious blend of old-world and contemporary architecture, nestled among leafy streets and peaceful parks.

“Proud residents often walk, explore, and admire their neighbourhood.”

Linke has travelled extensively, gathering design influences from London to Palm Springs, but feels a familial bond with Adelaide’s comforting nooks.

“I cherish simple pleasures like taking my kids to Heywood Park’s playground, jogging through the quieter back streets, grabbing coffee from CIBO Espresso and sharing meals with friends at the myriad local dining spots,” he says. “It truly is such a lively corner of Adelaide.”
