Floridian mansions, perhaps more than any other state in America, tend to have a flair for the theatrical.

It could be an over-the-top infinity pool, a small zoo where pet tigers are kept (seriously), or, in the case of Tiger Woods’ Jupiter Island estate, a four-hole golf course.

Located on the Sunshine State’s Gulf Coast, this gigantic $16.7 million estate in the westerly city of Sarasota takes things up a notch for anyone that values entertainment and the sweet smell of two-stroke.

We’ve heard of people getting creative with a big backyard (52,609-square-metres, to be precise), but building a fully functional go-kart track with multiple layout configurations… really?

Props has to be given to the vendor, though – the racing course appears resolutely smooth and flat, which isn’t surprising, given Florida is the flattest state in America.

And, for those that don’t consider extreme g-forces and reeking of petrol a fanciful endeavour, the behemoth mansion also has a two-lane bowling alley with proper AMF componentry.

The sizeable mansion itself isn’t too bad either. We’re talking 1400-square-metres of interior living space, seven bedrooms, seven bathrooms, professional kitchen and luxury appointments.

The sprawling grounds also boast a tennis court, indoor basketball court, a massive swimming pool, and even a lake.

There’s a two-storey, three-bedroom, two-bathroom guest house, too, so you could have all your mates over to enjoy the incalculable amount of activities on offer.

And, to make sure the go-karts, and any full-sized vehicles for that matter, stay clean and protected, there are three separate garages on the estate, one of which is climate controlled.

According to Mansion Global, the current owners purchased the property way back in 1992 for less than $1.5 million, so if they can find the right buyer (most likely a professional Tik-Tokker), they’re going to make a sweet profit.

But, for something that looks like Richie Rich’s holiday home, it may well be worth it.
