In the past 10 years, only two houses have changed hands in exclusive Oyama Avenue and it’s little wonder.

Oyama Avenue and it’s little wonder. Offering a quiet enclave, yet positioned only a few minutes’ walk from Manly’s restaurant strip and ferry wharf, most of the properties claim harbour views, though perhaps none quite so impressive as those at No.15.

Set on the harbour’s edge at the tip of the cul-de-sac, the home drinks in views that stretch from Watsons Bay to Forty Baskets Beach. From the wraparound balcony, you can watch the fast ferries zip across the harbour, mark the comings and goings of the cruise ships and enjoy the spectacle of the Sydney to Hobart yacht race.

And on days when there’s no hurry to jump out of bed, you can lap up the same magnificent outlook through the massive picture window in the upper level main bedroom.

There are three separate living spaces to choose from, a granite kitchen and a double garage.

With no lawns to mow, there will also be plenty of time to take advantage of the area’s pristine beaches, coastal walking trails and national parks.

When the tide is low, you can launch your kayak from the back door and explore North Harbour or paddle to a nearby beach for a swim.

There’s no shortage of wining and dining options all within an easy stroll, including the Skiff Club bistro at the end of the street along with a host of restaurants and cafes on the wharf and along The Corso and Manly beachfront.

The campaign is being handled by Anthony Walls of Max Walls International with expressions of interest closing on October 18. Walls is quoting a price guide of $8 million.

“Ex-pats and corporates will love this house,” he says. “The views are incredible, it gets loads of sun, it’s private and it really is a lock-up-and-go proposition.”
