Last week’s Domain June Quarter 2018 House Price Report revealed Canberra’s median house price is $749,965, up 6.2 per cent this time last year.
Although the median house price in Canberra has surged, have no fear as there are still a range of options under this figure.
Over the weekend, from reported results, seven properties in Canberra sold under the hammer for a price below Canberra’s median house price. An additional three also sold prior to auction.
Sold: $616,000
This three-bedroom, two-bathroom Amaroo home was marketed as “one of the prettiest, light-filled homes you will find in Amaroo”. Features include a covered entertainment terrace, quality kitchen appliances and ducted evaporative cooling and gas heating.
Sold: $540,000
Located in one of Canberra’s most affordable suburbs, this four-bedroom, two-bathroom home was sure to be a hit with young families. An outdoor entertaining area and large backyard are among the most notable features.
Sold: $647,000
In Canberra’s north, this free-standing townhouse has a north-facing formal lounge to capture the winter sun. It has three-bedrooms and two-bathrooms and is split level.
Sold: $717,000
Architecturally designed, this three-bedroom, two-bathroom house is ideally located in the heart of the Gungahlin region. It features a northern orientation, in-slab heating, raked ceilings and highlight windows.
Sold: $462,000
The most affordable sale from the weekend auctions was this three-bedroom dual occupancy home in Latham. It has a functional floor plan with both formal and informal living spaces.
Sold: $665,000
Behind the classic red-brick Canberra facade, this three-bedroom, one-bathroom Lyons home has recently undergone renovations. It was marketed as having “a large easy care backyard” and “a fantastic opportunity to secure a large parcel of land.”
Sold: $732,000
This four-bedroom, two-bathroom home in Melba was presented as a family home. It features separate living areas, renovated bathrooms and multiple entertaining areas.
