Voting has opened for the Allhomes Homepage Photography Competition – with the winning shot to be the new feature image on our website.
The photo with the most engagement wins.
Hundreds of amazing locals and photographers entered the competition, capturing all things Canberra from the rolling hills of the National Arboretum to the breathtaking shores of Lake Burley Griffin.
Judges found it hard to shortlist to just eight entries, but have chosen the images which best capture the essence of Canberra.
One submission that wowed the judges was Michael Reid’s photo of a hot air balloon lifting off the water from the Canberra Balloon Festival.
The photo was taken from the National Museum.
“I am in my early 50s and only started photographing in the last four years,” said Michael.
“I love capturing the Canberra sunrises around Lake Burley Griffin and Lake Ginninderra in particular.”
Benjamin Huang’s photo of Kingston Foreshore at dawn is also up for public vote.
Benjamin was taking sunrise shots of the Jerrabomberra Wetlands when he came across the opportune shot.
“As the sun was about to come up during the late stages of dawn I saw this beautiful cloud formation moving in the distance behind Kingston Foreshore filling in the pink sky,” he said.
“The cloud was moving fast so I quickly turned my camera towards Kingston and captured a few long exposure shots.”
