Buying in Sydney’s CBD generally means paying a lot of money for a little bit of space. The median price for a studio apartment in the Sydney 2000 postcode is $730,000, according to Domain Group data over a six-month period.

That’s quite pricey, especially considering if you payed $110,000 more you could buy an average home in Melbourne.  Which got us thinking, why stay cooped up in inner-city Sydney when you could live a bit further out with a garden or perhaps just move to Europe and buy a castle?

Here’s what $730,000 will get you around the world.
