An eighth-floor open-air pool will be the standout feature in the latest development in Gungahlin, according to developers.
Ruby Gungahlin will consist of two residential towers ranging from 14 to 18 storeys.
Marcus Allesch from POD Projects Group says there is an undersupply of housing in Gungahlin, and the first two high-rise developments in the area sold quickly.
“Ruby is located within walking distance to the Gungahlin to Canberra city light rail,” Allesch says.
He says the development’s point of difference is the shared spaces.
“The shared spaces include the 20-metre resort-style pool on level eight, the residents’ gymnasium and alfresco entertaining area, all with amazing views.”
The development will be built on a vacant block of land on the corner of Gribble Street and Anthony Rolfe Avenue. The development application was lodged in late 2016 and approved earlier this year.
The 2163-square-metre block will accommodate 169 apartments plus 1500 square metres of commercial space on the ground floor. There will be 301 car spaces.
Construction will start at the end of the year, but buyers can purchase the apartments, a mix of two to three bedrooms and penthouses, from next week.
Allesch says prices start from $275,000 for a two-bedroom apartment, rising to more than $800,000 for a penthouse.
“The development has been named Ruby because a ruby is a valuable jewel, just like an apartment in this development,” he says.
“And it’s also in reference to the red feature panels in the facade.”
