Yellow Wiggle Emma Watkins won’t be letting lockdown interfere with her plans to sell her East Ryde home, listing it this week in time for a first inspection this weekend (private appointments only) for $1.6 million.

The sale comes just three months after she and fellow band member Oliver Brian announced their engagement with an Instagram post showing off her engagement ring.

It wasn’t the upcoming nuptials that prompted the sale, however, but after she received several expressions of interest on the property and changing plans by her own family, she told Domain in a statement this week.

Emma Watkins has set an August 7 auction for her East Ryde house.

“I was lucky enough to grow up in Ryde and I love the area and community,” she said. But, “my parents have moved away from Sydney and now I have been looking at places to be closer to them.

“I’m sad to be leaving this beautiful home and area for the moment, but the new owners can look forward to making really special memories here.”

Watkins declined to reveal where in the state she was planning to move.

The East Ryde house has been freshly painted throughout and has new floors.

Records show Watkins purchased the three-bedroom house on 1300 square metres in March 2019 for $1.3 million.

It returns to the market with new floors and freshly painted soft pink interiors ahead of a scheduled August 7 auction through The Agency’s new recruit Lee Dowdall.

Watkins sold her former apartment in Wollstonecraft and the lower north shore in 2017 for $2.05 million after just two weeks on the market.
