You Wish: Hawthorn
$4 million-plus

This classic eastern suburb address was featured in a 1927 edition of Home Beautiful magazine.

Decades on, the Hawthorn mansion is just as stylish as ever.

Built in the 1920s, 2 Fordholm Road is an example of Spanish Mission architecture – the bricks and mortar embodiment of European glamour and romance.

The property is tucked in a highly sought pocket of the suburb called Scotch Hill, hemmed by Richmond and the Yarra River.

Renovated throughout with bright and crisp finishes, the vendors have lovingly retained its original beauty, from coffered ceilings to arched windows.

The substantial floor plan includes a basement cellar, formal and casual living and dining areas, all equally as swish and inviting, with flexibility for four or five bedrooms plus two studies.

A ground-floor guest bedroom has its own bathroom, for ultimate privacy.

French doors off the family room open to an elevated deck, with a studio, at the back of the garden, equipped with a kitchenette.

Marshall White agent Davide Lettieri is tasked with the sale, sending the home under the hammer on September 17.
