Retail mogul Craig Kimberley is known as the jean genie, and his far north Queensland retreat is just magic.
Kimberley’s secluded tropical estate, named Kalimna, is on the market at $7.5 million.
The five-bedroom property, embedded over five levels joined by boardwalks, is one of the largest private land holdings in Port Douglas and looks like a resort, not just a home.
Kimberley is the founder of Just Jeans, which he sold his stake in for $64 million in 2001, and is one of Australia’s most successful businessmen. His Christine Vadasz-designed getaway is made up of nine pavilions set in lush water gardens, with vistas across the Coral Sea.
A 25-metre infinity swimming pool drops away for the rainforest and ocean on the horizon, with a teahouse pavilion for lounging after a dip. The main bedroom pavilion has an outdoor shower and a deck.
For total privacy, the guest pavilion is separate and has four bedrooms, all with en suites.
