If you’ve ever felt like you’re paying too much rent, this astounding property in Los Angeles might put the amount you’re laying out into perspective. To rent this decadent megamansion you would have to fork over a harrowing $US1.5 million ($2.19 million) a month.

Nestled in the hills of the incredibly exclusive suburb of Bel Air on Los Angeles’ west side, this outrageously extravagant home was built by LA-based plastic surgeon Dr Raj Kanodia. It was originally listed for sale at $US180 million ($263 million), but has since been taken off the market and is now only available to rent.

So what exactly are you getting for all that money? Well, for a start, you’re getting a 27.5-metre infinity pool that offers outrageous views spanning all the way to Catalina Island. That pool area blends seamlessly into an open living space which looks like something straight out of a James Bond movie.

Have you ever wanted to have surgeries performed on you in your own home? Well, this house has a treatment room that will allow you to do just that. It’s part of the property’s wellness area, which also includes a sauna, hot tub, and steam room.

Once you’ve had a bit of a touch-up, you can head to your personal wine cellar. Invite some friends over while you’re at it and they can meet you in the room specifically dedicated to wine tasting. As your guests arrive, they’ll be greeted by an 8.8-metre high entryway that opens to nine bedrooms.

And if that wasn’t a large enough number for you, try this on for size: this house has 20 bathrooms. Some of the other noteworthy features include a home theatre, firepit, library, and billiard room. All this opulence comes packed in a fully furnished, four-level house on 3158 square metres of land.

More important than all the features listed above, though, is the address itself. The suburb of Bel Air is among the most coveted in Los Angeles, making up one-third of the prestigious Platinum Triangle alongside Beverly Hills and Holmby Hills. Some of its more famous residents have included Jennifer Anniston, Beyonce, Elon Musk, and Alfred Hitchcock.

It should therefore come as no surprise that this property is just a quick walk down the street from the most expensive house currently for sale in the US market. It’s called the Chartwell Estate, and it’ll set you back a cool $US245 million ($357.9 million).

If you’re thinking about renting the house yourself, bear in mind that you’ll first need to drop a security deposit of $US3 million ($4.38 million). That massive commitment will be worth it though, because as the listing website says, the house is “Modern. Exotic. Timeless. Formed with surgical precision. From the lush landscape gardens to the striking water features, every inch of Dr. Kanodia’s desire was realised.”

And if you’ve really got your heart set on actually owning 908 Bel Air Road, don’t despair. Speaking with Business Insider, listing agency Compass said it would still consider offers to purchase, despite the property not being on the market.
