Your Domain: The Block's Andy and Deb talk up their kitchen week victory chances

Andy and Deb only just missed out on taking the win in last week’s master en suite reveal on The Block, but the NSW couple are quietly confident of victory in the all-important kitchen reveal tomorrow night.

Pipped at the post last week by just half a point with their “prawn cocktail” en suite, the couple say a good relationship with their trades has worked to their advantage while working on their kitchen.

“Big reveal of the kitchen this week – we are very nervous, but we’re quietly confident,” Andy told Your Domain hosts Shelley Craft and Chris Kohler on Saturday morning. “We love our kitchen and I think we’re on a winner. Fingers crossed.”

The Blockheads admit they’ve put so much work into their St Kilda house so far that they don’t want to leave when host Scott Cam declares “tools down” for the final time.

“It’s so beautiful and there’s lots of work that goes in,” said Deb. “Our team was incredible, too. We had a really good bond with our trades.

“There’s so many great memories in every room.”

Deb also praised her stand-up comedian husband’s attempts to keep everyone smiling and laughing on site.

“I think it helped us so much. Throughout the entire experience, Andy had us laughing and we enjoyed it. It was fun,” she said.

“It was hard but we definitely had our fun in there, too.”

Andy, well-known for his air guitar antics, added: “It’s a coping mechanism. You have to joke around or you’ll cry.”
